Mac Macapendeg is a womenswear designer and freelance writer born in Mindanao, Philippines. In 2008, he studied Bachelor of Arts in Philippine Studies at De La Salle University - Manila, where he graduated with a Gold Medal for Outstanding Thesis. Right after college, he worked his way as a showbiz reporter for two years before deciding to pursue a career in fashion.
 

In 2014, he went to Davao City for a supposed vacation, when he and his sister found Fashion Institute of Design and Arts and decided to enroll in their one-year program. After finishing the curriculum, he had the opportunity to present his first collection – chosen as the show opener – 0n April 2015 at SM Lanang Premiere, entitled "Crisp Lines" inspired by the fragile world of ballerinas. The following year he presented his second collection "Rosit" inspired by finding the light and nature.
